Membership will be considered in the following categories for applicants:

FULL MEMBER
  • Physicians who have received certification of fellowship in psychiatry from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, or by a provincial college in the province in which they practice, or hold such other specialist qualifications in psychiatry as shall be acceptable to the Board and,
  • have satisfactorily completed two years of training in psychosomatic medicine or have primarily practised psychosomatic medicine for a minimum of 2 years or have had at least one year of training in an approved program and have primarily practiced psychosomatic medicine for a minimum of one year and,
  • Are legally qualified medical practitioners who are acceptable to the Board.

ASSOCIATE MEMBER
  • Physicians who have received certification of fellowship in psychiatry from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, or by a provincial college in the province in which they practice, or hold such other specialist qualifications in psychiatry or in other areas of medicine or surgery as shall be acceptable to the Board and,
  • Have satisfactorily completed one year of training in psychosomatic medicine and have primarily practise psychosomatic medicine for less than one year and,
  • Are legally qualified medical practitioners who are acceptable to the Board.


POSTGRADUATE FELLOW / RESIDENT / INTERN / STUDENT (No payment required)
  • Members-in-training are physicians who are registered in an approved postgraduate training program in psychiatry
  • Free for MIT's

AFFILIATE MEMBER

  • Affiliate members are individuals who, by the nature of their professional or volunteer activities, have an interest in psychosomatic medicine and are acceptable to the Board.
